The King is Coming

“Arise shine for your light has come! The glory of Adonai has risen on you. For behold, darkness covers the earth, and deep darkness the peoples. But Adonai will arise upon you, and His glory will appear over you. NATIONS will come to your light, KINGS to the brilliance of your rising…” Isaiah 60:1-3

This week I have firsthand seen the fruits of this verse in Isaiah. King MwantaYanvwa of Congo who is the highest ranking King in sub-Saharan Africa has come to the Overland Missions base for a whole week. This is a huge deal getting news coverage, international attention and even attention even from the President of Zambia. The King coming to Zambia was a historical moment; because he has yet to visit his people in Livingstone. The question is why did the King come to a Mission base in Zambia? The King of Congo wanted his people to know the Lord and be trained in His ways. This is a huge open door for Overland Missions; because the King is helping them have access to reaching more people in remote areas of Central Africa. This relationship is helping Overland Missions advance the kingdom and take the gospel into areas that would otherwise be unreached with the gospel. This divine, kingly connection is amazing. I believe God will continue to work in linking people of God with governments to spread His name and goodness over the earth.

God will continue to turn the hearts of Kings to the Lord and nations will be shaken and changed for the glory of the Lord. “For I will make the nations your inheritance and the ends of the earth your possession.” The harvest is ripe; “the knowledge of the glory of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters cover the seas”(Habakkuk 2:14).  “In the last days I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, your sons and your daughters will prophesy your young men will see visions and your old men shall dream dreams. …I will show signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth…and everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Joel 2). Now is the time of Salvation for the bridegroom is coming for a pure and spotless bride. I truly believe the laborers will see a mighty harvest of the Lord like never before for He desires that all would be saved. He is rewarding His faithful servants.

I am blessed to have been a part of welcoming the King of Congo into Livingstone with the Overland Missions crew. Upon arrival on the base we lined up in two rows and bowed while clapping two times to pay respect and welcome His Excellency. We got to see the King of Congo in person which most people here in Zambia never get the privilege to do. In fact, my friend and I were sitting on the stairs talking when he walked by with some of the chiefs. He stopped and took a picture with us! Anyway, there have also been chiefs from various chiefdoms on the base as well. Meetings between dignitaries went on during the week. At the end of the week, they even got to meet with the President of Zambia. I am just blown away by the Lord’s goodness. It is such a privilege to be serving and learning here at Overland under some amazing leadership. The anointing of the Lord is truly with this ministry and I believe this is just the beginning for them. He is rewarding His faithful servants who have been tilling the ground and sowing the seeds. I believe greater things are yet to come. I just wanted to share God’s goodness! The King of Congo is on Mission’s base this week! The Lord is so good! “Be still and know that I am God. I am exalted among the nations. I am exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46:11). Be encouraged for God longs to do exceedingly and abundantly beyond what we could ask or think for the glory of His name. Stay faithful and stand on the promises of His word. He will bring great things to pass in the time we live in. “No eye has seen and no ear has heard what God has in store for those who love Him; But God revealed these things to us by His Spirit” (1 Corinthians 2:9-10). Press into the Spirit of God and seek Him out, be faithful, and diligent and see that in time to come will He not open up the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing to advance His kingdom. “Blessed is the one whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the pilgrim roads…They go from strength to strength” (Psalm 83:6,8). No matter what you are facing do not give up and stay faithful to the course the Lord has set you on. For I find that the most beautiful stories come out of the most hopeless and hardest beginnings so that the glory of God is made known. My faith is being pushed and encouraged being here in Zambia. I may not fully understand where God is leading yet; but where I am at right now is where He has led me to be for this season. Sending love from Africa ❤
