Journal Entry Day 1 in Zambia
05-19-16
The sun sets over the African horizon as I look out into the unknown. The unknown is terrifying, but liberating for far greater things lie ahead than anything I could ever leave behind. The love of the Lord is so evident for the people. You can feel the Abba Father’s heart for His precious sons and daughters to bring healing and salvation to bind up their wounds and make them whole to reveal His truth and bring them out of darkness into His glorious light. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness did not understand the light. We are ambassadors of the Lord, bringing His message to the uttermost bounds of the earth. Today being with the kids brought healing to me. I saw the love and joy of the Lord through them. It wasn’t anything I really did. They were just excited a Makuwa (white person) was there, bringing Jesus. I was literally surrounded by all these little girls who decided to stay with me and do my hair. I literally can’t remember the last time anyone decided to do my hair. Being here I just feel parts of me springing to life that have been dormant for so long. I have a desire to preach! Sharing the message hut to hut is giving me confidence to proclaim the name of the Lord. I seriously don’t want to go back to living any other way. I just feel the anointing and strength of the Lord. He is giving me His heart and desire to search out the mysteries of God. Today was cool, because I went to this hut with our team and God laid it on my heart that the reason for us doing this is so a generation not yet born would praise the name of the Lord. I shared the testimony of my mom and how because of God bringing salvation to her, our whole family now knows the Lord. Randomly today I felt the need to wear a necklace my friend gave me after graduation which had meaning. A girl asked about it and I got to share that it represented the power of God and His fire. The message in the bottle said that “You will find me when you seek me with all your heart.” It was just an awesome day. We went to two huts the first we prayed for healing of a woman’s husband of malaria, salvation, and for him to be able to stop drinking. The second we prayed for healing of chest pain and strength for the pastor and His family. All we did was share the simple gospel and Jesus did the rest.
