“In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand! For this is he who was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, saying: ‘The voice of one crying the wilderness:Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’ Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locust and wild honey. Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him and were baptized by Him in the Jordan, confessing their sins..I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and FIRE!” Matthew 3:1-6,11
I believe the Lord is raising up wild ones who will burn continually for Him filled with the Holy Spirit and burning with Holy Fire! Those who reflect their Father; because they abide in Him. Acts 2 we see this very thing happen, the disciples are waiting in the upper room all in one accord and in one place. When “suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:1-4). They were filled with the Holy Spirit and fire of the Lord! They were full of His glory! They went from that place and turned the world upside down, proclaiming the kingdom! (Acts 17:6).
For when Jesus rose from the grave, the veil to the temple tore, the earth shook, and the dead came up out of their graves! The veil separating men from God was torn in two. “He has made us alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:13-15). We are sons and daughters of the most High God, full of His glory! The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in us! We are victorious!
But how do we burn burn brighter and shine with His glory continually? How do we burn with Holy Fire in a way that draws the lost to us? How do we become that city on fire on a hill? This can only come through abiding with the Father. We abide, seek His face, we look into His eyes that burn with Holy Fire. We catch that fire! If we truly get to know the Lord we will burn with Holy Fire. “For our God is a consuming Fire!” Hebrews 12:28. The throne room scenes are so powerful and beautiful! “Above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. Also from the appearance of His waist upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were the appearance of fire with brightness all around. Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord!” (Ezekiel 1:26-28). Man, if we just would behold the Lord in His glory and majesty. If we would sit at His feet and worship Him and cry out Holy, Holy, Holy. The more we abide with Him, the more we behold Him, the more we become like Him, and the brighter we burn with His glory- like Moses coming down the mountain top how his face shown with the glory of the Lord! “Therefore, since we have such a hope, we use great boldness of speech- unlike Moses who put a veil over His face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away…But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:13,18).
As we catch the fire of the Lord through intimacy it ignites a flame in us! The fire burns and consumes anything that isn’t of God! “For our God is a consuming fire!” (Hebrews 12:28). We are called to be holy, pure, set apart, a peculiar people, burning with Holy Fire. Intimacy has to be first. We have to know Him. We have to search out the depths, the heights, the widths of His great love. We have to go deep. Many are called, but few are chosen. Who will go deep into the chasms of His heart? Who will know Him? Who will press in and just sit at His feet? We have to abide. We have to know Him. What’s the point if we don’t? Blind religion, kind acts, head knowledge but no power behind it.
Come deeper Beloved. Abide, be full of His Holy Spirit and fire! We have to be continually burning, so that others will see and catch fire. They have to know us by our love (John 13:35). But how can we be love to others if we don’t truly know love? So many of us have had deep wounds: hurt, heartache, stabs from brothers and sisters who were close friends, rejection…There are wounds, deep wounds that no one but the Lord knows or will fully understand. His love is the only solution. His rivers from the throne room of God will wash over every heartache, every deep wound and laceration to bring healing. One friend prayed over me once that healing in the world means scars, but that healing with the Lord means complete healing. The Lord will even grown new skin tissue so that it’s like the wound was never even there. Come deeper, do not be afraid.
Friends, God loves us and is for us not against us. We need to go deep into the chasms of His heart and seek His face. We have to burn with Holy fire; because there are so many waiting and crying out to encounter the love of Jesus. We carry Christ in us the hope of glory.
The Lord had been convicting me that above all else I need to seek His face. People don’t need an encounter with Sara, but an encounter with Jesus. We need to carry His glory and fire. This only comes through seeking His face. We can do ministry everyday and become tired, stressed, and burnt out; because we are not operating from a place of abiding. John 15:5 “apart from me you can do nothing.” People need Jesus, we have nothing to offer apart from Him. We will seek Him and surely find Him, when we seek Him with our whole heart.

We have to go after Him with all of our being. Lord, let us seek you, and know you, and burn with Holy Fire to reach this world.
